About

This blog is written and updated by Amy Lennartson, regional coordinator for the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits in South Central and Southwest Minnesota. Before her work in southern Minnesota, Amy worked for several years in MCN’s St. Paul office, coordinating trainings, workshops and MCN’s annual conference. Prior to her work with MCN, Amy worked for environmental organizations based in both Redwood Falls and the Twin Cities.  Amy received her Bachelor’s Degree in political science and history from Minnesota State University, Mankato and studied political science internationally through the American University in Washington D.C.

Amy, who is based in the Mankato area, thinks she has the best job in the world: getting to travel around southern Minnesota and work with nonprofit staff, volunteers and board members, who all deserve one big collective shout-out for their creativity, passion, resources, knowledge and humor. She would like to give a big shout out to all the wonderful coffee shops in Southern Minnesota: thank you for caffeine and Wi-Fi!

About the photos, from left to right:

  3. “The Red Barn” located on Good Counsel Hill, run by member organization, School Sisters of Notre Dame, Mankato.
The barn is home to supplies for a thriving community garden, eco and garden-related workshops and more. Photo taken during a perfect spring day!
  4. Blue Mounds State Park, near Luverne Minnesota.
Photo taken during a family camping/nonprofit scouting trip. (How many nonprofits are located in the Luverne  and Pipestone areas? More than you might think…)
  5. Meeting with the AgStar Fund for Rural America, sponsored by MCN, at the Blue Earth County Library in Mankato.
  6. Jolly Green Giant, Blue Earth, Minnesota.
